New competition season is approaching. International events for this winter: WWEC will go on with up to five events during this season and on top of that WISSA2010. The World Championship will take place in Saguenay, Quebec, Canada. Last week at least we got information about WISSA2010 times: Feb.26 – Mar.7 and would be ready to announce most of WWEC dates, but… We have faced a problematic issue: windsurfing short track slalom (STS) discipline has disappeared from the official WISSA2010 program!
Last winter STS races motivated many windsurfers to participate in events and start to compete in WWEC and WISSA2009. Winter windsurfing was remarkably growing and for the first time World Champion in slalom was announced. We received lots of positive feedback about this discipline starting from beginners and up to WISSA officials. Therefore in the last WISSA meeting on February 2009 STS discipline was confirmed for WISSA2010.
Is World’s winter windsurfing STS discipline somehow lost in translation (the new organizers are French) or is it canceled by some reason without any explanation? So far there is no answer from WISSA and local organizational authority Concept Air! Let’s see, how the situation will develop, but one is clear – there should be chance to challenge the first World Champion in Short Track Slalom Janis Preiss, LAT-23 and to get new champion known this winter!
…we will keep you informed…

As far as i know, it is written on the Wissa.org that there will be a short track slalom race!
I discussed today with the Wissa 2010 comittee and they told that race will be, he was going to ask William thutill (Wissa president if it would a recognized Wissa race or not, with slalom works champion I mean) so we will get to know more later….
No worry, be happy!
